Level 4 – Supply (Supply Leagues)

Referee Since

2003

Bio

I'm the Creative Director of TheRefereeForum.com which has a network of tens of thousands of referees from all over the world sharing their knowledge, experience and anecdotes.

I am married to Danii and we have a beautiful 2 year old daughter named Alara.

Why did you start refereeing?

I was injured and watching my younger brother play football. Often the referee wouldn't turn up (or even be one assigned) so I started casually reffing his team and found that I enjoyed it enough to want to do it more often so I got qualified.

What is the most memorable match you have refereed and why?

Probably the Weapons Down Gloves Up Charity match at Goodison Park in May 2022. A few celebrities were playing so it was nice for them to be able to meet me.

What is your current career highlight and why?

The great feedback I get from so many people for being involved with The Referee Forum and how it has helped them on and off the field is something I am especially proud of.

What would you like to achieve in the next year?

I'm actively trying to drop weight, which for someone who has been a bit of a "mass monster" in the past means less bodybuilding and more cardio.

What is your ultimate ambition?

To be able to retire from working as soon as feasibly possible. I'd prefer to travel the world and experience all it has to offer.

Who has been/is your role model?

Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Best piece of advice given to you?

"You can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets"
