Commenced Refereeing on the I Zingari Lge in 1971, promoted to Lancashire Lge & Lancashire Combination. Following year moved onto North West Counties Lge. Currently Refereeing on the North West U21, Midweek University and Craven Minor Lge
Why did you start refereeing?
Turned up to play for North East Technical College, unfortunately Referee failed to turn up so I took the whistle. Continued to do so.
What is the most memorable match you have refereed and why?
A few.
Fleetwood Town v Droylesden, promotion clash, sell out crowd
Southport v Liverpool, semi Final Liverpool Senior Cup ( Liverpool field a full first team sad including K D. I was the senior Linesman.
Eden Vale v Nicosia., National Cup. Linesman provided, but could not see them because of the turn out of spectators
